Across Kentucky...temperatures are near 73 degrees west, near 71 degrees central, and near 70 degrees east. Current sky conditions are partly sunny west, sunny central, and mostly sunny east. In the west, relative humidity is near 42%, and the dew point is near 49 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 36%, and the dew point is near 43 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 25%, and the dew point is near 33 degrees. Current drying conditions are good west, good central, and very good east. Winds are variable at 7 mph with gusts at 22 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southwest at 14 mph with gusts at 21 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are variable at 3 mph with gusts at 18 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 74 degrees at Hopkinsville and Henderson. The lowest temperature is 68 degrees at London.

Temperatures for the period averaged 58 degrees across the state which was 5 degrees warmer than normal and 4 degrees cooler than the previous period. High temperatures averaged from 72 in the West to 71 in the East. Departure from normal high temperatures ranged from 6 degrees warmer than normal in the West to 6 degrees warmer than normal in the East. Low temperatures averaged from 47 degrees in the West to 44 degrees in the East. Departure from normal low temperature ranged from 4 degrees warmer than normal in the West to 5 degrees warmer than normal in the East. The extreme high temperature for the period was 88 degrees at FORT CAMPBELL and the extreme low was -33 degrees at MIDDLESBORO AWOS.

Precipitation (liq. equ.) for the period totaled 0.59 inches statewide which was 0.42 inches below normal and 58% of normal. Precipitation totals by climate division, West 0.68 inches, Central 0.61 inches, Bluegrass 0.52 inches and East 0.56 inches, which was 0.36, 0.42, 0.45 and 0.44 inches below normal. Severe dust storms across Iowa and Kansas closed schools and highways.
Dodge City KS experienced its worst dust storm of record, with dense dust
reported from the morning of the 9th until after sunset on the 11th. The
sky was almost as dark as night at times during the daylight hours. The
thick dust suspended traffic on highways and railroads, and also suspended
