A few storms may produce gusty winds, heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning. Heat index values of 99 and 106 degrees are expected through 8 PM in north and central Georgia. DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN Monday through Saturday Heat indices of 100 to 109 degrees are expected in north and central Georgia on Monday. A Heat Advisory has been issue for portions of eastern Georgia where widespread values over 105 degrees area expected. Precautions should be taken to avoid heat related illnesses. Hot and humid conditions will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday, and additional Heat Advisories are possible especially in central Georgia. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will continue through Saturday. The risk of severe weather remains low on any given day.
