DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN Wednesday through Monday Daily thunderstorm chances will last continue through most of next week. A few storms could become strong to severe and bring the risk for heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and frequent lightning. Heavier rainfall will be possible by the end of the week as tropical moisture overspreads the region. Some flooding and flash flooding will be possible, though there is still uncertainty on the exact timing and locations of the highest threats. A tornado traveled more than 200 miles across the state of Iowa killing 130 persons. The tornado touched down about ninety miles west of Grinnell, and struck the town and college around sunset, killing sixty persons, and causing more than half a million dollars damage.
