Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Georgia
Based on observations at 700am EDT, Monday June 08, 2026

Across Georgia...temperatures are near 71 degrees north, near 71 degrees central, and near 74 degrees south. Current sky conditions are cloudy north, cloudy central, and mostly cloudy south. In the north, relative humidity is near 87%, and the dew point is near 67 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 100%, and the dew point is near 71 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 85%, and the dew point is near 69 degrees. The livestock heat stress category is no stress north, no stress central, and no stress south. There is patchy fog central. Winds are from the west at 6 mph north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are calm central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the south at 5 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 75 degrees at Saint Simons and Albany. The lowest temperature is 68 degrees at Peachtree City and LaGrange.

 DAY ONE  Today and Tonight  

A Flood Watch is in effect for portions of North and West Georgia
today, including Metro Atlanta. Locally heavy rainfall may lead 
to isolated flash flooding in low-lying or urban areas.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Tuesday through Sunday  

Daily thunderstorm chances will last through much of the upcoming
week. While widespread severe weather is not expected, storms 
could include heavy rain, gusty winds, and frequent lightning.

Locally heavy rainfall and training thunderstorms also pose a
flood risk. Rainfall rates may exceed 2 to 3 inches per hour. 
Areas which receive heavy rainfall multiple days in a row will see
an elevated flash flood risk.

JUNE 8TH...HISTORIC WEATHER EVENTS
...1953...
The worst tornado of record for the state of Michigan killed 116 persons.
Flint MI was hardest hit. The tornado, half a mile in width, destroyed 200
homes on Coldwater Road killing entire families. (The Weather Channel)
...1966...
A tornado ripped right through the heart of the capitol city of Topeka KS
killing sixteen persons and causing 100 million dollars damage. The
tornado, which struck during the evening, cut a swath of near total
destruction eight miles long and four blocks wide. It was the most
destructive tornado of record up until that time. (David Ludlum)
...1974...
Severe thunderstorms spawned at least twenty-three tornadoes in Oklahoma
during the afternoon and evening hours. One of the tornadoes struck the
town Drumright killing sixteen persons and injuring 150 others. A tornado
struck the National Weather Service office in Oklahoma City, and two
tornadoes hit the city of Tulsa. Thunderstorms in Tulsa also produced as
much as ten inches of rain. Total damage from the storms was around thirty
million dollars. It was the worst natural disaster of record for Tulsa.
