...A HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND WILL CONTINUE TO SINK SOUTH 
ACROSS PARTS OF CHAUTAUQUA AND CATTARAUGUS COUNTIES...

HAZARDS...A lake effect snow band which can rapidly reduce visibility
to less than a quarter of a mile. This lake effect snow band is
producing extremely heavy snow at the rate of 2 to 3 inches per hour.

LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 823 PM EST, a lake effect snow band was 
along a line extending from near Gowanda to near Westfield and was 
steadily drifting southward. The most intense portion of the band 
was across far north-central Chautauqua county. The band will 
continue to steadily drift south and gradually weaken this evening. 

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
Jamestown, Salamanca, Allegany State Park, Westfield, Lakewood,
Falconer, Mayville, Long Point State Park, Jamestown West, Chautauqua
Institution, Findley Lake, Chautauqua, Portland, Ripley, Stockton,
New Albion, Gerry, Dayton, Conewango, and Ellington.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 90 between exits 60 and 61.
 Interstate 86 between exits 4 and 16, and between exits 20 and 21.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time to reach your destination.
