The threat has ended across almost all of the area as temperatures 
have warmed above freezing. There could be a few pockets in eastern 
Avery County east of the Parkway and northern Burke County where 
temperatures might hover around 32 degrees for another hour or two 
and additional ice could accumulate.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 5 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

The threat has ended across most of the Advisory area as 
temperatures have climbed above freezing. However, the southern part 
of Mitchell County from Spruce Pine to Little Switzerland and a 
small area of northwestern McDowell County along the the Blue Ridge 
Escarpment could have a few pockets of temperatures hovering right 
at 32 degrees for another hour or two, so isolated locations could 
still have additional ice accumulation into the early part of the 
evening.
