Another cool down is then forecasted for the remainder of the 
work week. High temperatures will struggle to rise above freezing
Thursday and Friday. Medium to high chances for accumulating snow
will cross the region from northwest to southeast Wednesday night
through Thursday, with a continued cool and active pattern into 
the weekend. For Saturday through Sunday, snow is likely for most 
locations.

Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in South Dakota
Based on observations at 1200am CDT, Tuesday March 19, 2024

Across South Dakota...temperatures are near 47 degrees west, near 48 degrees central, and near 39 degrees east. Current sky conditions are not available west, clear central, and partly cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 47%, and the dew point is near 28 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 34%, and the dew point is near 21 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 26%, and the dew point is near 7 degrees. Winds are from the northwest at 8 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to not available. Winds are from the west at 13 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southwest at 13 mph with gusts at 22 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 52 degrees at ELLSWORTH AFB. The lowest temperature is 33 degrees at BROOKINGS.

 DAY ONE  Tonight.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Tuesday through Sunday.

High to very high fire danger will continue Tuesday afternoon and
early evening.

A low chance of snow develops Thursday through Thursday night. Snow 
accumulations are more likely north of the Interstate 90 corridor
with very little, if any, snow accumulations expected further south.

Chances for precipitation return Saturday through early next week. 
Low confidence in details regarding exact timing and rain or snow 
amounts for any given day. However confidence is increasing that we 
will see multiple days of precipitation with periods of rain, wintry
