ON THE WEATHER MAP... A WEAK FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL TRACK ACROSS SOUTH CAROLINA TODAY BRINGING ANOTHER ROUND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO THE AREA. SLIGHTLY DRIER AIR WILL MOVE INTO THE REGION TONIGHT AND TUESDAY WITH A BREAK FROM THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FOR MOST OF THE AREA ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND NIGHT. DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE A DEGREE OR TWO BELOW NORMAL THROUGH WEDNESDAY WITH OVERNIGHT LOWS NEAR NORMAL.

Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in South Carolina
Based on observations at 500am EDT, Thursday March 28, 2024

Across South Carolina...temperatures are near 55 degrees west, near 56 degrees central, and near 63 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, cloudy central, and rain east. In the west, relative humidity is near 63%, and the dew point is near 43 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 97%, and the dew point is near 55 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 90%, and the dew point is near 60 degrees. There is patchy fog east. Winds are from the north at 8 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the north at 6 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the northeast at 3 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to rain. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 63 degrees at Charleston and Beaufort. The lowest temperature is 52 degrees at Rock Hill, Greer, and Greenwood.

Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel)

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
