Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
415 AM EDT Fri Apr 19 2024

A front will bring a few rounds of scattered light showers across
the state today. There could be a few rumbles of thunder over the
southwestern third of the state. The showers will linger through
much of the night over the lower Delaware Valley. But, the rain
totals won't get to a quarter of an inch in most places and likely
stay closer to one tenth of an inch. Highs today will range from
the mid 50s in the Poconos to near 70 degrees to the south of
Pittsburgh.

A gusty west wind will direct cooler air into the Commonwealth to
start the weekend. A few sprinkles are possible across the
northern tier Saturday afternoon. The rest of the area will be
partly sunny and only a little cooler than normal. Lows tonight
will be in the mid 30s in the northern valleys, and near 50
degrees in Philadelphia. Highs on Saturday will hold in the lower
40s off Lake Erie, but get into the mid 60s over the southeastern
piedmont. Chillier nights Saturday and Sunday will pose a frost
and freeze risk for unprotected vegetation.
