Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
723 AM EDT Wed May 8 2024

A dry cold front will drop south across the state today. This
will clear out the sky from north to south later this morning and
throughout the afternoon. A breezy west wind will develop with
the northern half of the Commonwealth seeing gusts peak in the
30s. High temperatures will range from the upper 60s right along
the Erie shoreline to the upper 80s in Philadelphia.

The sky will cloud up again from the southwest starting early
tonight as a wave of low pressure moves along the old cold front
which will be stalled out near the Mason-Dixon Line. Rain will
hold off until later tonight, moving in from the southwest. The
rain should spread eastward Thursday morning. Expect widespread
showers and a few thunderstorms to occur in a couple of waves on
Thursday and into Friday. Some heavier rain is possible in any
storms, and those would be mainly south of the Turnpike. Lows
tonight will be in the upper 40s in the northern tier, and close
to 60 in the far south. Highs will range from the mid 50s in the
northwest to lower 70s in the southeast on Thursday.
