High pressure centered over the Upper St. Lawrence River Valley
will create a light east to southeast flow of air across the
region today with abundant sunshine and continued low humidity.

High temperatures will range from the upper 50s across the
Northern and Western Mountains to the lower and middle 60s in the
Central and Southern Valleys. The southwest corner of the state
could reach 70 degrees this afternoon. 

Clouds will increase tonight with rain showers likely over the 
western half of the state by late Saturday morning. Rainfall
Saturday will vary between 1 and 2 tenths of an inch across the
Western Alleghenies to only a few hundredths of an inch across the
the Lower Susquehanna Valleys and Southeast Piedmont. 

Lingering clouds and some patchy drizzle and light fog are 
possible Saturday night into Sunday. An afternoon thunderstorm 
could occur Sunday, with the best chance occurring over the
Northern Mountains.

A major warmup will follow for Sunday and Monday with summer-like
temperatures and highs reaching into the 80s across the 
Commonwealth.

Across Pennsylvania...temperatures are near 67 degrees west, near 61 degrees central, and near 64 degrees east. Current sky conditions are partly sunny west, mostly sunny central, and mostly sunny east. In the west, relative humidity is near 47%, and the dew point is near 46 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 39%, and the dew point is near 36 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 25%, and the dew point is near 28 degrees. Winds are coming from the east at 10 mph in the west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are coming from the southeast at 6 mph in the central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are coming from the northeast at 5 mph in the east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 71 degrees at Beaver County. The lowest temperature is 55 degrees at Mount Pocono.

An unusually strong occluded front swept out of the Gulf of Alaska and
produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
fell northeast of Fairbanks from thunderstorms whose tops were less than

forty-seven tornadoes in two days from Louisiana to Upper Michigan. The
