Weather Summary Current Temperatures, Dewpoint, RH, Wind, Surface 4-Panel Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Oklahoma Based on observations at 300pm CDT, Thursday March 28, 2024 Across Oklahoma...temperatures are near 68 degrees west, near 66 degrees central, and near 67 degrees east. Current sky conditions are sunny west, mostly sunny central, and sunny east. In the west, relative humidity is near 39%, and the dew point is near 42 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 40%, and the dew point is near 41 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 31%, and the dew point is near 36 degrees. Winds are from the south at 14 mph with gusts at 21 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 15 mph with gusts at 25 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 9 mph with gusts at 21 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 68 degrees at LAWTON/FT SILL, HOBART, GUTHRIE, and ALTUS AFB. The lowest temperature is 64 degrees at CLINTON.

No hazardous weather is expected through tonight. DISCUSSIONA limited fire weather danger may develop across Osage and Pawnee counties this afternoon as south winds begin to increase and humidity values fall to near 30 percent. South winds will continue to increase overnight, with a few gusts approaching 30 miles an hour after midnight. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT Spotter Activation Not Expected. EXTENDED DISCUSSION Fire weather concerns will increase significantly Friday, especially across northeast Oklahoma, with gusty south winds, warm temperatures, and low humidity values. Increasing high level cloud cover may somewhat offset these otherwise favorable conditions. Moisture will increase over the weekend, and winds will not be quite as strong, which will temper fire weather concerns to some degree. Thunderstorm chances return late Sunday night and Monday, with an increasing potential for severe storms Monday afternoon and evening as a cold front moves into the area from the northwest. Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel) ...1920... The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum) ...1997... Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
