Across Oklahoma...temperatures are near 37 degrees west, near 31 degrees central, and near 34 degrees east. Current sky conditions are clear west, clear central, and clear east. In the west, relative humidity is near 87%, and the dew point is near 33 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 100%, and the dew point is near 31 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 92%, and the dew point is near 32 degrees. Winds are calm west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the south at 3 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are calm east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 36 degrees at TINKER AFB and MUSKOGEE. The lowest temperature is 28 degrees at WOODRING and HOBART.

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
