A ridge of high pressure will build into the Ohio Valley tonight, 
bringing clearing skies. Another weak cold front will move southeast 
across the area Friday, bringing an increase in clouds, gusty winds, 
and a few showers Friday afternoon and early evening, mainly east 
and southeast of Lake Ontario. High pressure will build back into 
the Great Lakes Friday night and Saturday, with dry weather and 
clearing skies. Low pressure will then move across the Great Lakes 
later Sunday through Monday, bringing the next chance of rain.

Current sky conditions are partly cloudy west, partly cloudy central, and partly cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 61%, and the dew point is near 40 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 48%, and the dew point is near 35 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 39%, and the dew point is near 44 degrees. Winds are coming from the southwest at 15 mph in the west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are coming from the west at 13 mph in the central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are coming from the northwest at 12 mph in the east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. The livestock cold stress index is in the no stress category west, no stress category central, and no stress category east. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 70 degrees at New York City and Central Park. The lowest temperature is 43 degrees at Saranac Lake.

A record low stage was set on the Ohio River at Clifty Creek, at 404.7 feet.

The Galloping Gertie bridge at Tacoma WA collapsed in strong winds
resulting in a six million dollar loss, just four months after the grand
opening of the new bridge. The winds caused the evenly sized spans of the
bridge to begin to vibrate until the central one finally collapsed. From
that point on bridges were constructed with spans of varying size. (David

At 7 AM a blinding flash, a huge ball of fire, and a terrific roar occurred
over parts of Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, caused by a disintregrating
meteor. Windows were broken in and near Hinton OK by the concussion. (The

A tobacco warehouse in Horse Cave (Hart County) lost its roof, while a 
furniture warehouse received major damage from an F0 tornado that was on 
the ground for 9 miles. Two lumber businesses received significant roof 
damage. Numerous sheds and carports were also destroyed. A scoreboard was 
down at a local high school. 15 residents received minor residential 
damage. In Hardyville (Hart County), a barn was demolished with 5 people 
inside sustaining injuries. None were hospitalized. Numerous additional 
barns and outbuildings were damaged and trees were down along the path as 
well. An F0 tornado touched down just northwest of Adairville (Logan 
County) and traveled around 10 miles northeast to just southwest of Auburn. 
As the tornado moved across the Logan County airport it did an estimated 
$500,000 worth of damage to airplanes. At least 5 airplanes were damaged 
beyond repair. An F0 tornado touched down briefly near Stowers (Simpson
