.KEY MESSAGES...

- Very high to extreme fire danger is expected this evening for
  portions of northeast Nebraska and west-central Iowa.

- Several rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms are possible
  beginning this evening through Tuesday afternoon. All modes 
  of severe weather are possible at this time.

- Much cooler temperatures work their way into the region
  beginning Wednesday and are expected to last through the
  weekend.

Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Nebraska

Across Nebraska...temperatures are near 54 degrees west, near 68 degrees central, and near 70 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, cloudy central, and mostly cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 69%, and the dew point is near 44 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 81%, and the dew point is near 62 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 78%, and the dew point is near 63 degrees. Winds are from the northwest at 14 mph with gusts at 22 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southeast at 23 mph with gusts at 33 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 17 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 72 degrees at FALLS CITY. The lowest temperature is RAIN degrees at NORFOLK.

Hazardous Weather Outlook For WHEELER County, Nebraska

937 PM CDT Mon Apr 15 2024 /837 PM MDT Mon Apr 15 2024/

 DAY ONE  Tonight.

The threat of severe weather across western and north central 
Nebraska continues overnight. The hazards are very large hail, up to
2 inches in diameter, damaging winds and the threat of isolated 
tornadoes. 

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Tuesday through Sunday.

A High Wind Watch is now in effect Tuesday affecting parts of 
western Nebraska, generally along and west of highway 61. The
potential hazard is northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to
60 mph.

Accumulating snow is possible Wednesday night and early Thursday 
morning which could, at times, make travel hazardous across parts of
the Sandhills and the Nebraska Panhandle.
