National Weather Service Omaha/Valley NE 1239 PM CDT Thu Apr 25 2024 .KEY MESSAGES... - Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected through the weekend. - Severe weather is possible tonight (>80% chance), especially across eastern Nebraska. - Severe weather appears likely (>80% chance), during the afternoon and evening hours on both Friday, Saturday, and perhaps Sunday. - Flash flooding is also a concern due to the potential for repeated thunderstorm activity over the same areas.

Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Nebraska Based on observations at 300pm CDT, Thursday April 25, 2024 Across Nebraska...temperatures are near 66 degrees west, near 58 degrees central, and near 53 degrees east. Current sky conditions are mostly sunny west, cloudy central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 67%, and the dew point is near 55 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 86%, and the dew point is near 54 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 90%, and the dew point is near 50 degrees. Winds are from the southeast at 20 mph with gusts at 29 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the east at 15 mph with gusts at 23 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southeast at 12 mph with gusts at 21 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 75 degrees at CHADRON. The lowest temperature is 49 degrees at MILLARD.

Hazardous Weather Outlook For HOLT County, Nebraska 1212 PM CDT Thu Apr 25 2024 /1112 AM MDT Thu Apr 25 2024/ DAY ONE This afternoon and tonight. Scattered rain and thunderstorms are possible this morning, mainly for the Sandhills through central Nebraska. While severe weather is not expected with this activity, brief moderate downpours and frequent lightning are the main concerns. After a lull during the daytime, rain and thunderstorms become likely by early Thursday evening. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible with the main concerns being large hail, locally heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Though confidence in occurrence is low, damaging wind gusts and a tornado or two cannot be ruled out south of Interstate 80. DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN Friday through Wednesday. Rain and thunderstorms continue into early Friday morning. Though the severe threat is expected to decrease, the threat for heavy rain will increase. While the threat for flash flooding appears low at this time, low-land flooding will be possible before activity wanes by Friday evening into early Saturday with rainfall amounts of a half inch up to an inch and a half forecast across western Nebraska. Another storm, quick on the heels of the first one, will arrive late in the day Saturday. Renewed thunderstorm development including the threat for additional heavy rain will be likely through the overnight and into the day Sunday. New rainfall amounts of a half inch to an inch and a half are again possible. Where these two rounds of precipitation overlap the most will have the potential of seeing 2 to 3 inches of total rain Thursday through Sunday.
