Across Missouri...temperatures are near 56 degrees north, near 63 degrees central, and near 56 degrees south. Current sky conditions are clear north, clear central, and clear south. In the north, relative humidity is near 38%, and the dew point is near 31 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 27%, and the dew point is near 29 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 34%, and the dew point is near 28 degrees. Winds are from the southwest at 6 mph north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the south at 5 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the south at 3 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 63 degrees at Jefferson City. The lowest temperature is 51 degrees at Rolla.

Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel)

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
