Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Missouri

Across Missouri...temperatures are near 65 degrees north, near 67 degrees central, and near 65 degrees south. Current sky conditions are mostly sunny north, sunny central, and sunny south. In the north, relative humidity is near 30%, and the dew point is near 33 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 24%, and the dew point is near 29 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 20%, and the dew point is near 23 degrees. Winds are from the southwest at 16 mph with gusts at 26 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southwest at 14 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are variable at 6 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 68 degrees at Lee's Summit. The lowest temperature is 64 degrees at Springfield and Rolla.

 DAY ONE  This Afternoon and Tonight

Fire danger will remain heightened this afternoon, mainly for the
southeast Missouri Ozarks.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday

Fire danger will be heightened Friday afternoon, mainly for 
western Kentucky from the Land Between the Lakes eastward.

A chance of storms returns to the forecast late this weekend into
early next week. The best chance for stronger storms is with a
cold front's approach late Monday into Tuesday morning.

HISTORIC WEATHER EVENTS

Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel)

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
