High pressure will continue to build over the region today. As 
winds turn to the southwest on Saturday a warming trend can be 
expected over the weekend into early next week. A weak front 
will bring a few showers Saturday night into Sunday. Monday will
be warm away from the coast, with cooler temperatures along the
coast where an onshore flow of cooler air will develop. Expect 
a better chance of showers on Tuesday along with cooler
temperatures.

Across Maine...temperatures are near 40 degrees north, near 43 degrees central, and near 51 degrees south. Current sky conditions are fair north, fair central, and sunny south. In the north, relative humidity is near 32%, and the dew point is near 12 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 27%, and the dew point is near 11 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 24%, and the dew point is near 16 degrees. Winds are from the northwest at 10 mph with gusts at 23 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. An unusually strong occluded front swept out of the Gulf of Alaska and
produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
fell northeast of Fairbanks from thunderstorms whose tops were less than

Severe thunderstorms associated with an intense cyclone spawned a total of
forty-seven tornadoes in two days from Louisiana to Upper Michigan. The
