...Rain/Light Snow Ending Today, Wintery Mix Later Tomorrow & Thursday...

Radar is clear late this afternoon, but mostly cloudy skies remains. This feature has kept highs in the 30s today. Look for those temperatures to dip into the middle to upper 20s tonight and stay in the upper 30s to low 40s tomorrow. Bottom line, below normal temperatures are sticking around.

Precipitation chances increase Wednesday evening and carry over into the day on Thursday with a disturbance passing aloft. This system is expected to bring a wintry mix to much of the region, mainly Wednesday night. Freezing rain and sleet accumulations will be possible with this event and impact morning commutes for portions of Central Kentucky and the Bluegrass, while snow appears to be a better bet across Western Kentucky. Across Kentucky...temperatures are near 24 degrees west, near 29 degrees central, and near 32 degrees east. Current sky conditions are fair west, fair central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 74%, and the dew point is near 17 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 82%, and the dew point is near 24 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 88%, and the dew point is near 29 degrees. Current drying conditions are fair west, poor central, and poor east. Tobacco stripping conditions are marginal west, favorable central, and favorable east. Winds are from the northeast at 9 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. The wind chill is near 14 degrees west. Winds are from the north at 8 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. The wind chill is near 21 degrees central. Winds are from the northeast at 3 mph east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. The livestock cold stress index is in the no stress category west, no stress category central, and no stress category east. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 34 degrees at London. The lowest temperature is 24 degrees at Paducah.

Temperatures for the period averaged 43 degrees across the state which was 7 degrees cooler than normal and 10 degrees cooler than the previous period. High temperatures averaged from 50 in the West to 51 in the East. Departure from normal high temperatures ranged from 12 degrees cooler than normal in the West to 11 degrees cooler than normal in the East. Low temperatures averaged from 36 degrees in the West to 37 degrees in the East. Departure from normal low temperature ranged from 4 degrees cooler than normal in the West to 1 degrees warmer than normal in the East. The extreme high temperature for the period was 71 degrees at WHITESBURG 2NW and the extreme low was 0 degrees at MONTICELLO AWOS.

Precipitation (liq. equ.) for the period totaled 1.86 inches statewide which was 1.07 inches above normal and 235% of normal. Precipitation totals by climate division, West 1.07 inches, Central 2.07 inches, Bluegrass 1.99 inches and East 2.33 inches, which was 0.14, 1.24, 1.3 and 1.61 inches above normal. By station, precipitation totals ranged from a low of 0.05 inches at CARBONDALE ASOS to a high of 3.47 inches at CYNTHIANA 8N.

With the help of a fresh three inch cover of snow, the temperature at Ely
NV dipped to 15 degrees below zero to establish an all-time record low for
the month of November. That record of -15 degrees was later equalled on the
