Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Kansas
Based on observations at 400am CDT, Friday April 26, 2024

Across Kansas...temperatures are near 52 degrees west, near 65 degrees central, and near 59 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, cloudy central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 93%, and the dew point is near 50 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 97%, and the dew point is near 64 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 96%, and the dew point is near 58 degrees. There is thunder central. Winds are from the north at 8 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southeast at 20 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 18 mph with gusts at 32 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 73 degrees at Medicine Lodge. The lowest temperature is 51 degrees at Elkhart.

Hazardous Weather Outlook For SCOTT County,KS

 DAY ONE  Today and Tonight

Severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and tonight. Very
large hail is possible with the strongest storms, and possibly a
tornado.

Near critical fire weather conditions are forecast for extreme
southwest Kansas today. See the latest fire weather message
(TOPRFWDDC) for details.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday

Severe thunderstorms are expected Saturday afternoon and evening
over south central Kansas. Very large hail is possible with the 
strongest storms, and possibly a tornado.

Critical fire weather conditions are forecast for much of 
southwest Kansas for Saturday. Strong southwest winds and low
humidity are forecast.

Killer frosts were reported in the Deep South. The frost was quite severe
around Huntsville AL, and highlighted a backward spring in the South that

An unusually strong occluded front swept out of the Gulf of Alaska and
produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
fell northeast of Fairbanks from thunderstorms whose tops were less than

Severe thunderstorms associated with an intense cyclone spawned a total of
forty-seven tornadoes in two days from Louisiana to Upper Michigan. The
