Current sky conditions are partly sunny west, mostly sunny central, and sunny east. In the west, relative humidity is near 67%, and the dew point is near 48 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 53%, and the dew point is near 58 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 45%, and the dew point is near 56 degrees. Winds are from the northwest at 28 mph with gusts at 41 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms could develop this afternoon over parts of eastern and northeastern Kansas. Any storms that develop will be capable of very large hail, damaging winds and a tornado or two. DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN Saturday through Thursday. Numerous strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop and move into the area during the late afternoon hours on Saturday. Storms will again be capable of very large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes. On Sunday, there could be more thunderstorms over eastern parts of the area with a risk for large hail and strong winds. Repeated rounds of heavy rain could also cause localized flooding hazards through the weekend. SPOTTER MESSAGE Weather spotters are encouraged to relay reports of hail, damaging wind, tornadoes and flooding.
