Across Kansas...temperatures are near 58 degrees west, near 57 degrees central, and near 62 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, cloudy central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 100%, and the dew point is near 58 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 96%, and the dew point is near 56 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 77%, and the dew point is near 55 degrees. Winds are from the north at 10 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southeast at 17 mph with gusts at 33 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southeast at 29 mph with gusts at 46 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 74 degrees at Medicine Lodge. The lowest temperature is 55 degrees at Newton.

An unusually strong occluded front swept out of the Gulf of Alaska and
produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
fell northeast of Fairbanks from thunderstorms whose tops were less than

Severe thunderstorms associated with an intense cyclone spawned a total of
forty-seven tornadoes in two days from Louisiana to Upper Michigan. The
