Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Kansas

Across Kansas...temperatures are near 29 degrees west, near 32 degrees central, and near 40 degrees east. Current sky conditions are partly cloudy west, partly cloudy central, and clear east. In the west, relative humidity is near 85%, and the dew point is near 25 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 96%, and the dew point is near 31 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 76%, and the dew point is near 33 degrees. Winds are from the west at 5 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the south at 6 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southwest at 13 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. The wind chill is near 32 degrees east. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 40 degrees at Concordia. The lowest temperature is 27 degrees at Lawrence.

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
