Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Kansas
Based on observations at 200pm CDT, Friday April 26, 2024

Across Kansas...temperatures are near 61 degrees west, near 83 degrees central, and near 77 degrees east. Current sky conditions are partly sunny west, mostly sunny central, and mostly sunny east. In the west, relative humidity is near 55%, and the dew point is near 45 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 28%, and the dew point is near 47 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 44%, and the dew point is near 54 degrees. Winds are from the northwest at 24 mph with gusts at 40 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southwest at 21 mph with gusts at 40 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southwest at 20 mph with gusts at 38 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 83 degrees at Winfield, Wichita Mcconl, and Wichita Intl. The lowest temperature is 61 degrees at Goodland.

 DAY ONE  This Afternoon and Tonight

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Saturday through Thursday

A risk of severe thunderstorms is expected Saturday afternoon into
the early evening primarily east of highway 283. Primary threats
will be up to 2 inch hail, damaging winds up to 70 mph and 
possibly isolated tornadoes.

Critical fire weather conditions are expected Saturday afternoon
west of highway 283 with winds south winds gusting up to 45 mph 
and with relative humidities between 10-15 percent.

An unusually strong occluded front swept out of the Gulf of Alaska and
produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
fell northeast of Fairbanks from thunderstorms whose tops were less than

Severe thunderstorms associated with an intense cyclone spawned a total of
forty-seven tornadoes in two days from Louisiana to Upper Michigan. The
