Across Kansas...temperatures are near SERVICE degrees west. Current sky condition is weather west.In the west, relative humidity is near KS %, and the dew point is near GOODLAND degrees. Winds are unavailable west. west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to weather. Winds are unavailable central. Winds are unavailable east. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 76 degrees at Medicine Lodge. The lowest temperature is SERVICE degrees at Goodland.

Hazardous Weather Outlook For CHAUTAUQUA County,KS

1221 PM CDT Thu Apr 25 2024

 DAY ONE  This Afternoon and Tonight

Strong to marginally severe storms are possible for southeast Kansas
this afternoon.

A second round of strong to severe storms are possible for tonight 
mainly across central Kansas. Main concerns will be up to quarter-
sized hail and 60 mph winds. A tornado cannot be ruled out west of 
US-281 early tonight.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday

A conditional risk of isolated severe storms exists Friday 
afternoon along and east of the Flint Hills.

Very high grassland fire danger is expected on Friday across
central and portions of south-central Kansas.

Another round of strong to severe storms will be possible on
Saturday. There is also the potential for localized flooding where
training thunderstorms occur.

Thunderstorm chances may linger across far southeast Kansas on
Sunday. Additional storm chances are possible Tuesday evening.

 SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT  

Spotter activation is not anticipated this afternoon or tonight.
