Weather Summary For Central And Southeast Illinois

Cirrus clouds moved across western Illinois this evening, as a
band of rainfall slid through eastern Missouri. Temperatures late
evening were beginning to fall into the 60s.

The dry and seasonable weather pattern will continue through the
remainder of this week and into the weekend. As High pressure
slides toward the East Coast this weekend, temperatures will climb
back into the upper 80s to near 90 by Sunday.

Lows tonight will drop into the mid 50s to mid 60s. Highs Thursday
will peak in the upper 70s across northeast Indiana, increasing
southwest to the mid 80s in Missouri.

Across Illinois...temperatures are near 55 degrees north, near 54 degrees central, and near 58 degrees south. Current sky conditions are mostly sunny north, mostly sunny central, and mostly sunny south. In the north, relative humidity is near 35%, and the dew point is near 28 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 61%, and the dew point is near 41 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 51%, and the dew point is near 40 degrees. Winds are from the southeast at 10 mph north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the east at 13 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the east at 3 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 63 degrees at Metropolis. The lowest temperature is 42 degrees at Waukegan.

 DAY ONE  Today and tonight.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Friday through Wednesday.

Periods of thunderstorms are expected Friday through Sunday night. 
Some of the storms could be strong to severe, with the potential for
all severe threats. 

Heavy rain is also expected through the weekend. Most locations 
could see anywhere from 1 to 2 inches, with a 20-40% chance for
amounts over 2 inches west of I-55.

Minor flooding along the Illinois River will continue through the 
week.
