Current sky conditions are cloudy west, partly sunny central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 46%, and the dew point is near 47 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 40%, and the dew point is near 52 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 40%, and the dew point is near 52 degrees. The livestock heat stress category is no stress west, no stress central, and no stress east. Winds are from the east at 12 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the southeast at 14 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. There is a slight chance for thunderstorms late this afternoon, with an increasing chance for thunderstorms this evening into tonight. The main threats will be hail, damaging winds up to 60 mph, and frequent lightning. A tornado can't be ruled out west of the Mississippi River, but this is a low threat. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible with the potential for localized flooding should any area see repeated rounds of storms.
