Across Georgia...temperatures are near 52 degrees north, near 55 degrees central, and near 60 degrees south. Current sky conditions are partly cloudy north, mostly cloudy central, and light rain south. In the north, relative humidity is near 58%, and the dew point is near 38 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 68%, and the dew point is near 45 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 100%, and the dew point is near 60 degrees. Winds are from the northwest at 13 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the northwest at 3 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the north at 8 mph south, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to light rain. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 66 degrees at Saint Simons. The lowest temperature is 49 degrees at Dalton.

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)

Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
