As an upper trough passes over the region this afternoon, there is a 
slight chance for a shower to develop during the mid to late afternoon
hours, with that chance ending in the evening as the system moves offshore.  
Otherwise, the cloudiness over the eastern counties will gradually decrease
during the remainder of the day, with mostly clear skies expected over the
forecast area Tonight, as high pressure gradually builds toward the forecast 
area from the west. Winds will become light during the evening. Current low 
temperature forecast Tonight looks good, with mid 40s across 
inland se GA, 45-50 for inland ne FL, and lower 50s immediate 
coast.

Across Florida...temperatures are near 75 degrees north, near 78 degrees central, and near 87 degrees south. Current sky conditions are sunny north, partly sunny central, and partly sunny south. In the north, relative humidity is near 28%, and the dew point is near 40 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 46%, and the dew point is near 56 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 58%, and the dew point is near 71 degrees. Winds are from the north at 15 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the northwest at 16 mph with gusts at 29 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the west at 18 mph with gusts at 28 mph south, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 87 degrees at Pompano Beach, Pembroke Pines, and Ft Lauder-Exec. The lowest temperature is MOSUNNY degrees at Lakeland.

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)

Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
