The pesky thunderstorm that moved across a portion of southeast 
GA coast and First Coast this afternoon and evening is slowly
weakening as of 830 PM, and expected to dissipate over the next 1-
2 hours. Otherwise, no major changes to the forecast as cool and
dry advection will continue across the area tonight. Expecting
lows generally in the 40s for the interior and low to mid 50s from
the St. Johns River towards the coast and for far southern areas.

Across Florida...temperatures are near 72 degrees north, near 74 degrees central, and near 79 degrees south. Current sky conditions are fair north, fair central, and fair south. In the north, relative humidity is near 29%, and the dew point is near 38 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 42%, and the dew point is near 50 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 43%, and the dew point is near 55 degrees. Winds are from the northwest at 8 mph north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the northwest at 9 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the northwest at 12 mph with gusts at 26 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 79 degrees at Pembroke Pines, Miami, Homestead, and Ft Lauder-Exec. The lowest temperature is CLEAR degrees at Lakeland.

HISTORIC WEATHER EVENTS

Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel)

The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
