Across Colorado...temperatures are near 57 degrees west, near 54 degrees central, and near 53 degrees east. Current sky conditions are cloudy west, partly sunny central, and fair east. In the west, relative humidity is near 38%, and the dew point is near 32 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 54%, and the dew point is near 38 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 86%, and the dew point is near 49 degrees. Winds are from the southeast at 7 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the west at 3 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the west at 8 mph east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 57 degrees at GRAND JUNCTION. The lowest temperature is 21 degrees at WOLF CREEK PAS.

 DAY ONE  Today and Tonight

Scattered showers along with a few afternoon thunderstorms can be
expected. Small hail and gusty winds may accompany a few of the 
storms. Otherwise, it will windy across the plains this afternoon.
Snow will increase in the mountains later tonight, with light to 
moderate rainfall developing across the plains.

 DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN  Saturday through Thursday

A strong spring storm system will move across Colorado Saturday
bringing widespread rain and mountain snow. The snow level is
expected to fall to 7000 to 8000 feet. Travel into the higher 
foothills and mountains will likely be very difficult with 1 to 3 
feet of snow expected, with the heavier amounts expected to be in 
the northern mountains.

Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.

TODAY
Chance of snow showers in the morning, then snow showers, rain showers and chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. New snow accumulation up to 2 inches. Highs 38 to 48. West winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

TONIGHT
Snow showers, chance of thunderstorms and rain showers in the evening, then snow showers and slight chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. Lows 24 to 32.

SATURDAY
Snow showers. Slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Snow accumulation of 9 to 14 inches. Highs 28 to 38. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

produced the first April thunderstorm of record at Fairbanks. Pea size hail
