.KEY MESSAGES...

- Conditional threat of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and
  evening, especially along and east of a Sterling to Akron
  line... with large hail and isolated tornadoes as the main
  threats.

- Showers and storms become more numerous late this afternoon and
  across the northeast plains through the overnight

- Fire weather concerns east central Colorado

- Significant snowfall likely (70-80% chance) in the mountains 
  Friday night through Saturday night, widespread rain showers 
  over the plains

- Warmer and drier early next week

Across Colorado...temperatures are near 65 degrees west, near 72 degrees central, and near 90 degrees east. Current sky conditions are fair west, fair central, and fair east. In the west, relative humidity is near 24%, and the dew point is near 28 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 31%, and the dew point is near 40 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 12%, and the dew point is near 31 degrees. Winds are from the southwest at 18 mph with gusts at 28 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the east at 13 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 22 mph with gusts at 40 mph east, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 90 degrees at LAMAR. The lowest temperature is 36 degrees at WOLF CREEK PAS and SUNLIGHT.
