Current sky conditions are fair west, fair central, and cloudy east. In the west, relative humidity is near 14%, and the dew point is near 14 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 51%, and the dew point is near 39 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 81%, and the dew point is near 55 degrees. Winds are from the east at 3 mph west, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the northwest at 9 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the east at 8 mph east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 65 degrees at TRINIDAD, MONTROSE, and LA JUNTA. Gusty outflow winds to around 35 mph can be expected with any of the showers. DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN Thursday through Tuesday Scattered showers and storms are possible Thursday afternoon through evening, with a slight risk of severe thunderstorms. One or two storms east of a line from Sterling to Akron in the late afternoon and evening could produce hail up to golfball size, wind gusts to 60 mph along with a threat of a brief tornado. The rest of the period will remain cool and unsettled, as precipitation is expected to become more widespread across northeastern Colorado. There is potential for accumulating snowfall for the high country, with several inches possible over the higher elevations. Across the plains, widespread rain showers with a few embedded thunderstorm possible. SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
