Current sky conditions are fair west, fair central, and fair east. In the west, relative humidity is near 43%, and the dew point is near 20 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 45%, and the dew point is near 16 degrees. In the east, relative humidity is near 79%, and the dew point is near 30 degrees. Winds are from the east at 17 mph west, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 9 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. The wind chill is near 28 degrees central. Winds are from the west at 6 mph east, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 41 degrees at GRAND JUNCTION and BROOMFIELD. The lowest temperature is 10 degrees at MONARCH PASS.
US Radar, All NWS Radars (In near-real time), Current Livestock Heat Stress Index (LSI), Current Wind Chill Map Hazardous Weather Outlook For DENVER County,CO 1104 AM MDT Wed Mar 27 2024 DAY ONE Today and Tonight Periods of light snow showers will occur in the mountains again today with accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, mainly above 10000 feet. Across the plains, it will be dry with warmer temperatures. DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN Thursday through Tuesday Periods of snow showers are expected over the high country through Sunday. The snow will mostly be light, although there may be a period of heavier snow north of Berthoud Pass and over the Rabbit Ears Pass Thursday night. Scattered light rain showers will be possible across the plains north of I-76 at times, mainly Thursday evening and again Friday evening. Another weather system will bring another round of snow to the mountains Sunday and Monday, with a mixture of rain and snow likely along the I-25 corridor Sunday night into Monday. The plains will most likely see rain with this system with some snow possible mainly north of Interstate 76. Overall, precipitation is expected to be light. There is a chance of a period of heavy snow in the Front Range mountains and foothills Sunday night into Monday morning. Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel) ...1920... The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum) ...1997... Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
