Current Agricultural Weather Conditions in Arizona
Based on observations at 1000pm MST, Saturday May 18, 2024

Across Arizona...temperatures are near 79 degrees north, near 65 degrees central, and near 83 degrees south. Current sky conditions are clear north, clear central, and clear south. In the north, relative humidity is near 7%, and the dew point is near 11 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 18%, and the dew point is near 21 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 15%, and the dew point is near 31 degrees. The livestock heat stress category is no stress north, no stress central, and no stress south. Winds are from the southwest at 9 mph with gusts at 17 mph north, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the south at 9 mph with gusts at 18 mph central, where conditions are not favorable for spraying due to strong winds. Winds are from the southwest at 5 mph south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 91 degrees at BULLHEAD CITY. Thunderstorms produced golf ball size hail and wind gusts to 110 mph in
Minnesota, between Fridley and Hugo. Fifty persons were injured. The hail
and high winds destroyed fifty mobile homes, and a dozen aircraft, and also
destroyed a third of the Brighton Elementary School. (The Weather Channel)

A prolonged period of severe weather affected our region on Thursday, 
May 19. The initial Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued at 11:15 A.M. 
All or part of the Paducah National Weather Service forecast area was 
under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until about 5:00 A.M. the following 
morning, May 20. A total of 52 Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and 3 
Tornado Warnings were issued.

A tornado touched down in northern Christian County, near the community of 
Kelly, which is north of Hopkinsville. A couple of brief tornado touchdowns 
were also reported near the Todd-Christian County line along U.S. Highway
